Maj also won 2 bronze medals in the 4 x 10 km relay at the Nordic skiing World Championships (1995, 1999). His best individual finish was 7th in the 30 km at the 2001 event.

Maj also won six times during 1993-2002 in the Continental and World Cups as well.
