Ewald von Demandowsky was a German

operative and head of production at Tobis in the Third Reich.
Already a member of the Nazi Party, in 1930 von Demandowsky was appointed cultural-political editor of the Völkischer Beobachter
. He became head of the production company Tobis in 1939. He produced a number of notorious Nazi propaganda
films, including Ohm Krüger

, von Demandowsky had a love affair with rising star Hildegard Knef
in the latter part of World War II
.
In May 1945 von Demandowsky surrendered and was transferred to a prisoner of war in Poland but soon after was released to return to Berlin. In 1946 he was arrested by US military police and handed over to the Soviet military administration. von Demandowsky was tried and sentenced to death by a Soviet Military Tribunal and executed on 7 October 1946 in Berlin-Lichtenberg.
