Yang met Robert Kang while doing a story on single life. She interviewed Kang, a pastor at the Church In Bethesda, about couples who meet at church. A year later in 2001 they married in front of more than 600 guests. . They have sons Jacob (October 2004) and Ben (October 2006); and daughter Carys Emanuelle (21 July 8).

Professional career

Eun Yang began her broadcast journalism career while at the University of Maryland. She worked as a reporter for Maryland Update, a program on the University's cable channel, then moved to TV-58

 where she freelanced as a special projects reporter for Asian-Pacific American affairs.

In 1995 she worked full-time as a W*USA 9 production assistant while finishing her last year at the University of Maryland. She was a reporter trainee for a year when the station started its weekend-morning newscast.

After 6 years at W*USA 9, Yang became one of the first correspondents for the National Geographic Channel in Washington, DC. On September 11, 2001
