The Braves say they regard the 6-foot-3 Salcedo as a first-round talent who is projected as a strong offensive and defensive player. He was named the 9th best Atlanta Braves prospect according to Kevin Goldstein of Baseball Prospectus.

Edward Salcedo's playing career has been delayed due to suspicions about his valid age. He was once considered the top international prospect back in 2007 and was offered a $2.7 million signing bonus by the Cleveland Indians

Edward Salcedo's first taste of the big leagues did not fair so well, averaging .225 with OPS of .640 in his split times with Dominican Summer League/South Atlantic League.
