 (DTA). This body was to begin its work on January 1, 2009 http://www.transport.ie/viewitem.asp?id=10513&lang=ENG&loc=2260. However, plans for the DTA were revised in the light of the budget shortfall, and the government replaced it with a National Transport Authority, which came into being on 1 December 2009. The DTO was dissolved on that date.
