A similar design first appeared in the original pilot, Sex and Violence, named Doctor Nauga in the skit Return to Beneath the Planet of the Pigs, and the following At the Dance skit. During the first season of the Muppet Show, a similar puppet was used in the At the Dance skits (usually dancing with Miss Piggy or one of the dancers). The main difference between these puppet designs was the hair color—the Season One pig had brown hair, not gray. By the time he appeared in Pigs in Space, the design had reverted to its original format.
