. It was originally called Repercussion when it was set up as a response to the 1996 IRA bomb. For the first 8 years the festival was free, and a voluntary donation system was set up in the 9th year. However, due to mounting costs the organisers could no longer continue the festival.

The 10th and final Dpercussion was held on August 4, 2007, at Castlefield Arena in the Castlefield
