n culture into the daily life. The fraternity stresses the importance of culture, unity and academics and continually works to provide the South Asian community as well as elsewhere with assistance in any way possible.

On October 2, 2004, Delta Sigma Iota successfully established its first colony at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

, effectively becoming a national fraternity. Less than two years later, on April 6, 2006, Delta Sigma Iota established two more colonies at North Carolina State University
