Encyclopedia
Delta Gamma Pi Multicultural Sorority (ΔΓΠ) is a multicultural sorority dedicated to establishing bonds between exceptional women from all backgrounds.

History

In 1998, three women at Towson University in Towson, MD became interested in joining a sorority. However, the soon discovered that their current options didn't really provide what they were looking for. So on November 11, 1998, Diana Mitchell, Kendra Stevens, and Felicia Stewart founded the Delta Gamma Pi Multicultural Sorority.

For two and a half years, the sorority stayed local. In 2001, a second chapter was established at Marymount Manhattan College in New York City, followed by chapters being established in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Forest College in Anderson South Carolina, and Purdue Calumet Campus in Indiana. It was at this time that Delta Gamma Pi established the policy of opening up membership to women attending 2-year schools and technical programs. The sorority was incorporated on October 25, 2007.

Today, Delta Gamma Pi's headquarters is in New York City; a hub of cultures, ideas and pioneering spirit. The sorority is committed to raising the bar in regards to cultural literacy and unwavering in the pride present in "being Greek".
