Deep electronica

Deep electronica, commonly referred to as "deep" is a sub-genre of the electronica umbrella genre. More specifically it is a fusion-genre between electroacoustics, IDM and experimental electronica.

Musical Features

Deep electronica is mainly characterized by an evident yet subtle beat, subtle atmospheric soundscapes lingering in the background and heavy electronic experimentation which cannot be specifically categorised. The texture is usually quite minimal, yet deep means that it has rich details, colorful sounds, furthermore the original sounds are heavily masked by filters.
