Dawn of Light creates the framework to run live-like mirrors of servers as well as the ability to make changes to experience rates, the server software that is developed is very customisable which allows development of alternative rule-sets for example the Storm: D2 server runs a Diablo 2 rule-set.

There are a number of public servers running DOL, the largest peaks at over 1200 players on-line. There is no full time support team and all work on servers and the project are voluntary.

The server is released under the GNU General Public Licence
