He went on to have a successful 11-year career in the NFL despite suffering a career-threatening injury after his Junior season at NU, where he was a dominant defensive lineman for three seasons. In high school he was rated one of the top players in the state and was an All-American and named Scholar Athlete of the Year in the tri-county area.
