Dariusz Świercz is a Polish chess
grandmaster. He is a chess prodigy
, being one of the youngest grandmasters in history and the youngest Polish grandmaster of all time, achieving the title at the age of 14 years and seven months. In the September 2011 FIDE rating
list he is ranked 7th in the world for active players under the age of 18, first in Poland

Dariusz's grandfather showed him how to play chess when he was three years old. He became a FM in 2004 at the age of eleven, an IM in 2008 at thirteen and a GM in 2009 at the age of 14.
