 street in Windhoek. The centre started with principal Mrs. Ansie Ellis and one teacher and 7 learners.

The centre moved in 1971 from there to a building on the corner of Peter Muller- and Bismarck street and in 1972 to a house in Hugelstreet.

The school currently accommodate 120 learners and 28 learners in the hostel. The learners enrolled at Dagbreek originate from all cultural groups in Namibia and also reflects the percentages which the Namibian population consists of. The school has a waiting list of more than 180 learners from all over Namibia waiting to be enrolled. Currently the hostel is busy to plan to build two houses to accommodate 32 extra learners.
