DECT Forum

The DECT Forum is a non-profit industry organization founded 2002 in Paris by several manufacturers and suppliers of DECT cordless telephony equipment. The headquarters of the DECT Forum is Berne, Switzerland. The DECT Forum is a non-profit organization, registered under the law of Switzerland.

The DECT Forum has currently 47 members (full and associate membership).

The DECT Forum's goals are as follows:
  • Develop and enhance the DECT and CAT-iq
    CAT-iq
    CAT-iq stands for Cordless Advanced Technology—internet and quality and is a global technology initiative from the DECT Forum.-Background:...

     standards in collaboration with ETSI TC DECT.
  • License the trademark CAT-iq to manufacturers of end products to ensure quality and interoperability.
  • Protect and enhance the frequency bands for the DECT technology and standard for the benefit of cordless phone users worldwide.


In order to achieve the objectives of the DECT Forum, the organization has established the following Working Groups:
  • Marketing Working Group
  • Regulatory Working Group
  • Security Working Group
  • Ultra Low Energy Working Group
  • US Working Group
