For over twenty six years they have partnered with the California Arts Council

 and the artistic community of Sonoma County to provide information, programs, services, funding and technical assistance to artists and art lovers.

Since 2004, the Council has also been known as the Arts Council of Sonoma County, but the official name remains unchanged.

It's landmark program ARTrails Open Studios remains the most prestigious Visual Arts Open Studios program in Northern California.

Mission

To ensure that all facets of the arts are developed and enriched county-wide by:
  • Encouraging creative expression in all its forms.
  • Promoting appreciation of our cultural and ethnic heritage.
  • Bringing exposure to local and regional art.
  • Providing resources to Sonoma County schools, artists, and organizations.
  • Helping artists and Arts organizations find common goals in order to foster inter disciplinary events and promotions for the arts.
  • Encouraging non exclusive access to the arts as a motivation to encourage greater public participation.
  • Endeavoring to help all artists and artistic organizations gain the highest profile and exposure for their creations while encouraging the highest possible standard of creativity.
