Athletics

Covenant Day currently competes on the 3A level of the North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association as a member of the Metrolina Athletic Conference. The swim team won the 2008 state championship on this level, the team's third championship. In its years of varsity sports, Covenant Day has had three consecutive wins in the NCISAA Wachovia Cup Championship, which recognizes overall excellence in sports.

Fall sports are men's soccer, women's volleyball, women's tennis, and cross-country. Swimming, basketball, and cheerleading occur during the winter. Baseball, softball, women's soccer, men's tennis, track and field, and golf are offered in spring. Most sports are offered on the varsity and middle school levels, and several occur on the junior varsity level.
