The school's colors are scarlet red and new gold, and the mascot is the Cougar.

Coronado students produce a weekly television show for the student body, which is downloadable from the school's podcast. Coronado students also produce a monthly newspaper for the Coronado community, the Cougar Chronicle.

The school currently competes at the 4-A athletics level in every sport except football (3-A) and wrestling (5-A). This change from 5-A to the 4-A division took effect starting in the 2010-2011 season.
