 metal band from Copenhagen, formed in 2008. They have released one extended-play entitled Ulterior Motives.

Formation

Cold Night For Alligators was founded in 2008 in Roskilde by guitarists Kristoffer Jessen and Roar Jakobsen, drummer Niklas Schrøder and former bassist Simon Silva. During the first year of existence the band rehearsed without a singer but in 2009 vocalist Hjalte Bertelsen joined the band.

 CB-Studios to start the recording of their first extended-play. They continued the work by recording vocals at another Danish recording studio based in Frederikssund called Six String Studios, and ended up recording guitar and bass themselves in CNFA Studios. The recordings was then mixed and mastered by Jeppe Anderson in Hansen Studios.

Shortly after the EP was finished bassist Simon Silva left the band.

Release of Ulterior Motives

In September 2010 Cold Night For Alligators released the EP and named it Ulterior Motives. Ulterior Motives was given mixed reviews with Danish mainstream music magazine Gaffa awarding the record 3 stars of 6 possible, and online magazine Rockfreaks.net giving the EP a rating of 8 out of 10. Another online magazine named Devilution described the EP as "exciting fusion metal" and gave the release a rating of 3 out of 5.

Ulterior Motives also received coverage from several bloggers. One blogger reviewed the album and rated the album with a B+ rating and another blogger described the band this way: they have massive technical influence and there's no doubt about it. This is not just simple deathcore.

Nominated for Best Metal Act

The band was nominated for best metal act at the annual Danish Underground Music Awards. The awardshow was held at Danish venue Bremen located in Copenhagen

Release of first music video

At the 8th of May the band released a music video for the song 'Tempus Fugit' of the EP Ulterior Motives. Two days after its release, the video was promoted by online magazine The NewReview and later the same month Metal Injection did the same.
