. The rise of these Pumitas was dizzying for 1973-74 and participated in a promotional league and won promotion to the second pass. As the San Luis came to the bottom in the First. His technical Enrique Vega Alvarez had health problems and resigned. Coach Juan Eduardo Hoober, came to remove and reinforcements as Charrúa scorer Luis "Loco" Villalba, the team managed to avoid relegation. For it was the final 1972-73 san luis played the dominant Cruz Azul the first game Cruz Azul won 5-2 and the second name Cruz Azul won 3-0 but San Luis showed progress.

In 1973-74 the team changed its nickname. Now the Saints, were reinforced with former crack Uruguayan Roberto Matosas. But in the second round would Acabóse. Hooberg Tiraría the towel and an old acquaintance, Hugo Cheix, it would relieve. In short it was a bad season. In the end the team was not technical and Don Arturo Mendoza was launched on an adventure to save the San Luis and appointed a committee formed by the emerging goalkeeper Javier "Gato" Vargas, Roberto Matosas and Marco Antonio Martínez, who had little power of decision. At the end of the competition was located in San Luis last place with 21 points. Laguna had been up, but indicated that the regulation should be played not by a fall league. In one way, the tie Auriazules goals to nil at home, in the back, with goals from Carlos Miguel and Eloir Perucci Micco, of Torreon defeated 2-0 at San Luis. But there is no evil that blows nobody any good and while the fans Potosina lamented the decline of San Luis, while celebrated the rise of the Pumas UASLP, who came to the full circuit invitation extended to the number of competitors to 20. 1980s

1981-82 for the fair, the Cubs again had a big competition. Alberto Guerra is entrenched in its technical aspect of winning and prestige. Reinforcements arrived in this campaign a reputation as the fearsome Chilean striker Osvaldo Castro "Pata Bendita", besides the former national team and Carlos Gomez Charrúa Lorenzo Unanue. The 1983-84 season was problematic for the team. Suddenly began to run the version of the club, which was donated by Miguel Valladares to the city through the council, would be sold by the government Potosina. The council reversed, but determined that no longer sustain the team, which was headed by a directive George Matouk, who hired Jorge Ortega as a coach. The team fell into mediocrity and miracle prevented the fall after the penultimate place in the table with 30 points, above the Union declined Tanners. The specter of falling again hang over the Cubs, but fortunately there was more bad team, the Zacatepec, which was loaded with the red lantern and fell. The Cubs were flying to the Second Division, but a stroke of luck came in as relief for the two campaigns was abolished following the descent. Despite the bad omens, the team raised for 1986-87. And this was because there was change of leader. The council gave the award to Gustavo Palomares, a businessman who set the technical direction of Jose Camacho, a former player of San Luis. But the pitcher is going to water and for the year 1988-89, the state government intervened andalusia team for a debit of the Directive with state authorities. This caused the Femexfut intervene and punish the team. Entry forbidden to play in the Plan of San Luis. Then the team played for eight dates in the municipal Celaya. And finally, both administrative error that had to be accountable and May 26, 1989 in the Plan de San Luis, after falling down the Cubs before the Cruz Azul 2-0. Were directly accounted for only 22 points, 26 of Atlas penultimate in the table.

1990s

Playing in the Second Division and with club faceing financial crisis The club Folded once againg, their best men had been sold. But that would be another blow to die alone and not as enthusiastic mood of the people: The new owner, Mauricio Hernandez, the team sold to entrepreneurs of Tampico. The club had a good performance in the campaign, was a campus that is acceptable to put the league. But it was officially Tampico. But San Luis Potosí state was already a futbolero, so another group of people joined another project. But he had to open the gap again and the first set due to compete in the Third Division. Input picked the name of his predecessors, Santos de San Luis. Although the team is not highlighted in the 1991-92 campaign for the Third, the enthusiasm was sparked by a flurry of good players potosinos as Carlos Arreola, Enrique Lopez Mireles, Jacobo Alonso and Isaiah Romero. For the 1993-94 season, Payan Celaya won the franchise's second division and with all staff and hired as a coach Jose Camacho Andalusia Potosino. But there were differences between technical and leader and the second preferred to leave the post vacant. So Payan hired in July "Fanta" Valadez. In the 1994-95 competition, the Second Division was transformed into First "A". Then the leadership team brought to the "Loco" Vincent Casillas for control technician. However, all auriazul came over Casillas and soon unless he paid up the pieces. Short arrived tournaments and San Luis struggled to stay on the circuit. In the Winter 96 ranked eighth in the table with 24 units and 97 were in the Summer thirteenth with 17 points. Before starting Invierno97, Jacobo Payan again threw in the towel and declared that if the state government not to intervene, football away in San Luis. And the government responded to its citizens as governor Horacio Sanchez Unzueta came to the rescue team and transferred to Juan Arvizu and Juan Autrique Gomez entrepreneurs solvents.
In the summer 98, the Saints were trained by Pedro Araya, potosino the idol, and he made a more acceptable form and debuting players. For the winter, Arvizu teamed up with Jacobo Payan, who returned to the football scene and had already secured a new franchise Second Division. In this new team was called Atlético San Luis and wanted to play in the capital Potosina and Plan of San Luis, but slowed their Autrique impetus. The club was led by Jose Camacho and had to play in Rioverde. But Payan won the Federation to authorize the driving range of Alfonso Lastras, already beginning to build. The idea [edit] Basically, the team's recent history began when the Group Televisa decides to buy the franchise because the team had trouble sporting and economic resources were no longer sufficient. Then they looked for an institution which could be sports exchanges and above all, to overcome the club in an integrated manner. Subsequently contact with people of Club America and a partnership is achieved. The club no longer americanista with a subsidiary in the Primera Division A, as his team, the Hawks had dropped to Querétaro Second Division. As I needed a new place in the province for many active players from the club. Both directives make contact and are interested in the project. Signing a contract for six months with a promise of sale if the results were positive. They reinforce the team, players emerged from the quarry americanista and foreign players with experience and quality for the time had no place in the Club America.

2000s

So, the team Real San Luis arrives at the end of the 2001 Winter Tournament after beating the leaders of the tournament, the Gallos Blancos of Querétaro with an overall score of 5-4. Then in the semifinals, leaving off the competition to Correcaminos of the Autonomous University of Mexico with a total of 3 to 2. And on December 12 in the final was played against the Red Sharks of Veracruz. The return game was played at the Stadium Plan of San Luis, after a full time registered in the gallery. The score of that game was 2-2 with an entry of the South American Rodolfo Flores and Jose Enrique Garcia, from the table Potosina. Once in port, on December 15, Real San Luis marking a fall of 2 goals to nil and they soon had to settle for runner-Winter 2001. However, the final tournament was positive and while St. Louis competed in the league tournament, the fifth day of December, the sale of equipment to the company Televisa. The agreement was closed by Mr. Javier Perez Teuffer and Eduardo del Villar by the television company, as well as engineers and Juan Arvizu for the Promotion of Sport Potosino, owners of the franchise. The purchase of the equipment took place in the presence of the State Governor Fernando Silva Nieto, as a witness to the transaction. First and foremost is that the team remain in the capital and Potosina certainly achieve promotion to the top category of Mexican soccer. So they formed a business council with potosinos to support the team, generate resources and achieve promotion in a period not exceeding three years.

For the next tournament, the team was motivated because they knew they had the ability, and certainly the confidence to reach even further than the last championship, also reached new players to strengthen the table and potosino the fans begin to identify and enhance their support. Also, it was an extra motivation, the new stadium Alfonso Lastras Ramirez could be ready at any time to build their stadium.

After a good season, once again, the team reached the league tournament now summer 2002. In the quarterfinals, faces andalusia Chiapas Atletico and Real San Luis opens its new stadium with a 3-0 on the scoreboard Chiapas. The semifinal is played against Aguascalientes potosino win the set and a marker with 2 to 0. In the game back, but so tight, it is to win now by 3 goals to 2. This will be the final tournament against the team of Saltillo, the Ocelot. The return game took place on May 17 at the stadium of the rival. The result was not expected because the box Tigrillo used his status as local and got 4 goals to 1 in San Luis, noted that both by Jose Enrique Garcia. The marker was difficult to trace, even so, there was still a game, the players have confidence and enthusiasm had given its full support. On May 19 Alfonso Lastras stadium had a full, some fans who never stopped encouraging while the players on the court and sought to diminish over the marker. Although the visiting team had several opportunities to increase their chances of crowns, and not implemented before the expulsion of two of its players, Real San Luis and wine took the first goal scored by Marcelo de Faria, then the second and closed Miguel Salcedo Moctezuma Serrato account. Thus the overall score was tied at the end of the meeting, so he had to play extra time, the golden goal was scored by Moctezuma Serrato, giving the championship to Potosina. Now it was half the ticket to climb and the other party would have to dispute with the Veracruz. Thursday May 23 was the first leg at the port, the result was partial to a tie with a goal from Edwin Santibanez from Real. The round was played on May 26. The result was an overwhelming 3 to 1 with goals from Marcelo de Faria, José Enrique Mendoza and Ignacio Garcia. Real San Luis won promotion to the highest level of the hands of its technical Jose Antonio Luna and returned after many years of First Division football in San Luis Potosí. Once in class, reinforcements were sought with experience that could teach and guide the young dynamic team. Similarly, the technical team also received support with the arrival of people who already have knowledge in the Primera Division. At the same time the team changed its name to Club San Luis, his shield was redesigned and the state continued to improve.

In 2005 the club returned to San Luis to qualify top division. During the Clausura 2006, the San Luis looking for new reinforcements to elute the decline with reinforcements Sebastiao Pereyra, Ailton Da Silva, Adrian Garcia Arias, and Emilio Mora manage to avoid the decline in the last day of the tournament against an Atlas favorable marker for potosinos 2-1 San Luis milagrosamete achieves the maximum stay in the circuit that manages to enter San Luis league wing beating Atlante with a 1-0 overall score was the annotation Sebastiao Pereyra.
