CHCA received the "Best Orchestra" award for both the 2004/2005 and 2005/2006 school years, along with many nominations in other categories. The school's Orchestra also played for the Cincinnati Cappies Awards Ceremony in 2006/2007, and in the following year, played Tchaikovsky's original score of his ballet, The Sleeping Princess. This ballet however, was modified so that the school's 'EJO' or Electric Jazz Orchestra, could also take part in it, with a Jazz-inspired second act. The 'EJO" has also traveled to Kenya for a charity tour. The orchestra's main success is due to their numerous amounts of talented instructors ranging from many different backgrounds and styles. Notably a Jazz-Inspired Trumpet player, a trombone player, and a Yale Graduate female Violin Player, Mrs. Jackie Yoo. The diverse teaching style allows CHCA's Orchestra to maintain its reputation for one of the best high school orchestras in the Greater Cincinnati area.
In the 2005 football season, CHCA went 14-1, losing to Patrick Henry 42-30 in the Division V state finals. CHCA is a member of the MVC (Miami Valley Conference).
CHCA football just finished their season 11-1, losing to West Jefferson in the second round of the playoffs.

In the varsity High School athletics, boys soccer won the state championship game 2-1 after double overtime and shootouts in 1993, having only freshmen and sophomore players. Similarly, in 2004/2005 they went to the state championships, losing 0-1 in the state final game at the Columbus Crew Stadium.
