Rear Admiral
Chew Men Leong is the Chief of the Republic of Singapore Navy
(RSN) from 31 August 2007 to 29 March 2011. RADM Chew handed over the Chief of Navy post to RADM Ng Chee Peng during a ceremony held at Changi Naval Base
on 29 March 2011.
RADM Chew holds a Bachelor of Engineering from the Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine, United Kingdom, as well as a Master of Science (Management) from the Leland Stanford Junior University, United States. In 1985, he graduated from Raffles Junior College and joined the SAF in December 1985. And in 1987, he was awarded the SAF Overseas Scholarship.
In the course of his military career, RADM Chew has held amongst others, the appointments of Head Naval Operations Department; Fleet Commander; Head Joint Plans & Transformation Department; Commander for RSN's 1st Flotilla; Commanding Officer for RSN's 188 Squadron, Commanding Officer for RSS Vigour (92) and as Executive officer for Sea Wolf-class missile gunboat
RSS Sea Lion (P77).
It has been announced that RADM Chew will join Singapore's National Water Agency, the Public Utilities Board
, as its Chief Executive Officer.
