Because it attracts a huge amount of traffic, traffic coming to it from the Manchester direction along the A556 road

 cannot make a right turn in but has to go on past the showground and make a U-turn at the roundabout at the east end of the Northwich bypass and come back to the showground and make a left turn in.

Traffic arrangements in 2011 (21–22 June 2011) were different: incoming traffic, and passing northeastwards traffic along the A556, was diverted at the roundabout near Lostock Gralam
