. It is located in Chattooga County from which it derives its name. It currently has approximately 850 students.

History

In 1964 Menlo, Lyerly, and Summerville High School's combined into Chattooga High School. Summerville High School was built across from J.R. "Dick" Dowdy Park. The gym-Field House, which was approximately 120 yards from the main school, was built a few years after the main school house.

Football

Chattooga's football team is known as the Chattooga Indians. They play at Little Big Horn Stadium/Buddy Windle Field. The Stadium seats around 2500 people. A Press Box was added and and other modifications were done in 2008. Coach John Starr holds the best record at CHS but was fired in 2008 and replaced by Coach Jim Lenderman, a former player and record holder at Chattooga. In January 2009, Coach Brad Waggoner took over as the head football coach for the Indians. Chattooga High School plays in the north 7AA region of Georgia.
