Various historic buildings found nearby include the eleventh-century church of Santo Stefano al Monte, which probably stands on the ruins of a pagan temple and the late Roman Pieve di San Michele. The eighteenth-century Castrum Candia (Italian: Castello di Candia) was built on the site of the ancient castle of count Enrico de Candia (He was also known as Henry, Count of Malta

), which dominated the town until it was badly damaged in the fourteenth century during the wars of the Canavese and finally dismantled by Fabrotino da Parma. Eventually a new castle was erected by the counts and it is known today as "Castelfiorito" di Candia Canavese.
