The station was launched in 1951 by Sunwapta Broadcasting as CFRN-FM, simulcasting the AM programming of CFRN

The station's on-air line up includes The Paul Brown Show in the morning, featuring Paul Brown, Yukon Jack and Gillian Foote. Lochlin Cross hosts the mid-day show, Scott McCord on the afternoon drive show, as well as Ryan G and Shawna Prince on at various times throughout evenings and weekends.
