The Buckle featured a fibreglass two door coupe body and a box chassis frame, transverse leaf spring front suspension and a conventional Ford rear axle. It utilised a Ford Zephyr

 six-cylinder engine and various other mass produced components. The car weighed only 865 kg and could reach a top speed of 160 km/h. The two-plus-two seating layout included a fold-down rear seat and the car featured an adjustable steering column and electrically operated door locks which were unusual features for the period.

Despite considerable motor sport success in the hands of various drivers including Buckle himself, only 25 examples were produced including the 1955 prototype. Buckle would however go on to a successful business venture building Goggomobil
