, Brian developed nerve damage in his left hand, which has kept him from performing live with the band since. He returned to the stage with them in 2005 as Keyboardist/Electronics but only for a few months. He has been replaced on tour by James Love, and recently Jeff Tuttle. Ben Weinman

 has said that he still has a place in the band should he be able to return.

On a more recent note, a Spreading Like Wings interview with Ben Weinman (March 29, 2008) has suggested the notion that former guitarist Brian Benoit will not, in fact, be returning to The Dillinger Escape Plan. Benoit's condition has unfortunately rendered him incapable of playing at the technically-demanding level that is necessary to perform the band's guitar parts.

In late 2010 it was announced that Brian would play a reunion show with Jesuit. It is not known whether it will be a one off, or whether his hand has fully recovered.
