Playing career

Malone was born in Chatham New Brunswick, where he started his minor hockey. At 17 Malone went to the USHL and played with Sioux Falls Stampede and had 33 points in 57 games. Malone then attended U. of North Dakota where he had 85 points in his 4 years in the WCHA
