Work to improve access for disabled passengers is nearing completion through the provision of lifts to the platforms. This upgrade is part of a £17 million investment package which also includes better lighting, signage and seating. It is expected to be complete by late Spring 2008

Service

Mondays to Saturdays on the Newry to Bangor line there is a half hourly service towards Portadown or Newry in one direction and to Bangor in the other with extra services at peak times and the service is hourly in the evenings. On the Larne line there are a few services a day to Larne Harbour or Great Victoria Street Mondays-Fridays and on Saturdays the service increases to half hourly and on the Derry line there is a two hourly service to Londonderry or Great Victoria Street with a few services to Portrush.

On Sundays on the Newry to Bangor line there is an hourly service to Bangor or Portadown. On the Larne line there is two hourly service to Larne Harbour or Great Victoria Street and on the Derry line there is 5 trains to Londonderry or Great Victoria Street.

The timetable allows 3 minutes for the trains to travel between Belfast Central and Botanic.

At one point, the cross border Enterprise service to Dublin served Botanic.
