Boone Township is named after Squire Boone

. Boone built the first Baptist church in Indiana in the Boone Township in 1807. The church is call Old Goshen Church and still stands.

Geography

Boone Township covers an area of 47.74 square miles (123.6 km²); of this, 0.39 square miles (1 km²) or 0.82 percent is water. The streams of Big Run, Mays Branch and West Branch Mosquito Creek run through this township.
