Blitzschlag is the annual Cultural fest of Malaviya National Institute of Technology Jaipur
which is surrounded by controversies. It is a three-day long event held towards the end of January every year and attracts a crowd of 15,000 students from more than 200 colleges all over the country. It was first started in 2005 and for the past seven years it has been exemplarily outperforming itself each year in every field it ventures into.
The word Blitzschlag has German origins; it stands for Thunder and Lightning. Blitzschlag is one of the biggest college level events in Rajasthan and sees participation of from colleges all over India which increases exponentially each year as the fest reaches new heights of excellence.
Aimed at inspiring innovation, technical interest among students and awareness among the public, this event has played host to various intriguing lectures, seminars, workshops, competitions, exhibitions, quizzes and a lot more.

History
Blitzschlag has a variety of events ranging from cultural to technical to architectural. It provided an avenue and platform to the participants to show off all their talents in every possible aspect of their personality. From Dance to Singing, Fashion Show to War of the DJ's this event is a guaranteed success. Each year our very talented and innovative students add new and exciting events, and take to the already existing events to higher levels of success. It has a variety of workshops and events that cater to the technical minds of the students of today. For the creative it provides a range of architectural events which test one’s creational aptitude. Other recreational events which were organized to en-flame the zealous raw minds include the informal fun events which were scattered throughout the three days and have something for everyone. Event list of blitzschlag2010 -- Ramba Samba - For the happy feet, an inter college dance competition held on a mega scale witnessing a participation of more than 40 colleges from all over India and is expected to keep promise with its ever increasing number of participants showcasing different dance forms which include classical, salsa, break dance, free style, contemporary and even a fusion of all the above in a groovy and breathtaking style.
- Panache - If you are a fashionista this fashion show is the place to be, it gives ample opportunities to the budding fashion designers to exhibit their talent in their own fields and also try out new ideas on the ramp lit up by models from different colleges putting on display a blend of attitude and confidence as they walk their way to victory.
- Ragna Rock - For the lovers of guitar rhythms and drum beats, the rock band concert cum competition which has the biggest names in the circuit battling it out loud in the arena of melodies. It has seen the participation of bands from different brackets across the nation ending in a colossal battle onstage with the witnessing crowd mesmerized by the explosion of music.
- War of the DJs - An event is incomplete without a night where its participants get to freak out. To let your hair down in Blitzschlag it has the Titanomachy of the best DJs in the town. On this burning night of passion everyone feels the fever of music with the amplification of the thump of the beats and what we get is an electrifying hangover of euphony.
- Moments - A picture speaks more than a thousand words as they can be more evocative and moving than words. For those adventurous enough to climb around and get dirty to a great shot or creative enough to capture a beautiful smile or a dazzling sunset. An exhibition of photographic talent across the nation capturing all the myriad of expressions such as jubilance, despondence, panic, frustration and anticipation under one roof. Being judged by the best names in the business it’s a feast for the eyes.
