Eastern Time and After Midnite airs from midnight to 6 a.m. Eastern Time (each time zone has its own tape-delayed broadcast).

Garner's programs, prior to 2007, only aired five nights per week and a separate host would be brought in to host After Midnite Weekend on early Saturdays and Sundays. The host of this version of the show changed frequently; J.T. Cole, Whitney Allen and Larry Morgan were among the hosts of After Midnite Weekend. Since 2007, snippets of Garner's weeknight shows (with the contests removed) have been aired on the weekends instead, following budget cuts at Clear Channel. Morgan remains listed as a "fill in" host.

The show, traditionally, has been broadcast from Clear Channel's studios in Los Angeles, as revealed in the show's opening slogan, "Broadcasting from high atop the hills of Hollywood, this is After Midnite with Blair Garner." However, as of 2009, the show is being broadcast from Blackbird Studio in Nashville, TN, making the show's flagship station
