 cases. In 1980 he was promoted to district stipendiary magistrate in Sunnfjord. In 1993 he applied, unsuccessfully, for the position as County Governor of Sogn og Fjordane. He remained in Sunnfjord except for the years 1981 to 1983, and in 2004 he moved to the district stipendiary magistrate chair Fjordane. He retired in 2007 due to the age limit of 70 years.
