Bindhaast is a thriller Marathi movie directed by Chandrakant Kulkarni released in India

This film is unique since all the cast except the dead man, the enquiry panel & passersby are females.
) who has raised her after the death of her parents in an accident. Vaiju is the daughter of a school teacher. The girls earn themselves an enemy when they pull a prank on Sheetal(Meenal Pendse). ACP Nisha Velankar(Mona Ambegaonkar), a tough cop & an ex-student of the college, enters the scene when she arrests a goon named Rahul because he harassed a girl from that college & the girl tried to commit suicide. Rahul later commits suicide.
In a college function, Nisha delivers a speech to the students, making them realize that the bias towards women still exists in the society & that they should strive to make an identity of their own and develop friendship amongst each other. The girls decide that they will do something on their own. Meanwhile, Atya wants Mayu to takeover family business. Spurred by their decision but afraid to say no, Vaiju concocts a story that when Mayu went to Goa on college trip, she met a Navy Officer named Mahesh Mukadam & fell in love with him. Atya is visibly upset, but accepts her niece's decision.
Then, the girls start faking the love affair between Mayu & "Mahesh" through his phone calls(done by Vaiju). One day, however, some other guy calls Mayu by Mahesh's name. Atya is clueless about the truth, but the girls think that somebody wants to blackmail them. The girls make a plan & tell the guy to meet them in girls hostel on the eve of silver jubilee, stating that the hostel will be empty. The duo make some excuses & stay in the hostel rather than attending the silver jubilee function. The duo keep guns with them, just to be safe.
The "Mahesh Mukadam" comes, and both the girls hide themselves. A gunshot is heard & both the girls run towards the direction, thinking that the other fired the shot. They are relieved to know that none of them fired the shot, but shocked to know that "Mahesh" is dead. Thinking fast, they stash away his body in a vent & go to destroy other evidences of his presence. When they return, they get another shock on seeing that the dead body is missing. Meanwhile, the ceremony comes to an abrupt halt when Mahesh's body crashes on & nearly destroys the stage.
ACP Nisha starts the investigation & the girls get arrested. They try to tell her the truth, but lab reports identify Mayu's gun as the murder weapon. Clueless & helpless, the girls finally stage an escape. They realize that somebody else is trying to frame them. With help of some of their colleagues, the girls narrow down their suspects to Atya & Sheetal. Meanwhile, a strange woman spies on them incognito. The girls initially confront Atya who tells them that she knew there was no Mohan Mukadam. She tells that she met a boy named Vikram, who played the part of Mahesh for her. They ask her why she was washing her hands in the hostel, whwereupon Atya tells that her hands were oily due to some food she ate.
Finally, the girls find that Sheetal is missing since the eve of silver jubilee function. Also, they find that she was in the hostel too, as she was not feeling well. They track Sheetal in her farmhouse, overpower her, gag her & call ACP Nisha. Then they try to elicit a confession from Sheetal, who shocks them by telling that ACP Nisha is the real killer. Sheetal narrates what really happened: she was indeed ill on that day. She saw ACP Nisha gunning Vikram/Mohan. When ACP Nisha saw her, Sheetal had to run to save her life. Horrified by this information, the girls patch up & decide to fight. ACP Nisha turns up on the scene & finally corners the trio. Just at that time, the strange woman comes with the police & tells Nisha to drop her weapon. Nisha hesitates & the woman shows her a deranged looking girl. Nisha suddenly surrenders. Finally, the strange woman & ACP Nisha explain the story in parts in front of a panel.
The strange woman introduces herself as Special Officer Seema Srivastav(Seema Biswas
). She tells that Rahul's autopsy suggested foul play & so she was sent from Delhi to investigate. Even before she could start, Mahesh Mukadam was killed & ACP Nisha became her prime suspect. She tells that Nisha's co-worker was actually her informer about the case.
ACP Nisha tells that her sister was driven to madness by a boy who pretended to love her & then ditched her. The guy was none other than Vikram. His real name was indeed Mahesh Mukadam, although he used various aliases & professions to con girls & their wealthy relatives. Nisha was surprised to see Mahesh in the hostel & killed him in a fit of anger. Even though she did not mean to, she chased Sheetal as she was the only eyewitness. While checking the gun of Mayu, Nisha realized that Mayu's revolver had same calibre as that of Nisha's. She switched her gun with Mayu's.
The girls are exonerated based on Nisha's confession. The college keeps a small party to welcome the girls back. All is going well until Mayu spots a giant bouquet from Mahesh Mukadam. She thinks this is a prank, but when everybody denies ordering the bouquet, she gets frightened. As she goes near the bouquet, Atya suddenly scares her witless by emerging from behind the bouquet. Mayu is initially angry, but suddenly all end up in peels of laughter.
