. Made up of 17 villages, the commune has a total population of 17 000. The area was severely effected by the 2009 cyclone Fanele, and currently NGO HoverAid are working there as long term development programmes are underway.

Beroroha lies on the Mangoky river, which is fast flowing, and can vary between 5m wide and 500m wide. The road to Beroroha is only possible with 4x4 and normally takes 2 days from Antananarivo
