History

The building is currently on Springfield Road and was first used in the 2002-2003 school year. Previously, the high school was on North Washington Street, in the building which is now the Jabish Brook Middle School. The current principal is Christine M. Vigneux, who is assisted by Mr. Vega, the Vice Principal.

In the 2007 - 2008 school year, Belchertown High School decided to make a few changes to their policies. Three of the most notable are:
  • The abolishment of exemptions for finals
  • A $25 fee for each after school activity, capped at $100 (This rule has since been abolished).
  • New grading system, now graded by points, not percentage.

Student population

In the 2006-2007 school year, there were 684 students enrolled at the school. This grew to 798 in 2007-2008.
