The school has an indoor swimming pool, gymnasium and a smaller fitness suite. In 2006/7 a bistro was built on the side of the school creating extra eating areas.

Beeslack Community High School has had two head teachers since opening in 1984. However, at the end of the 2008/9 session the more recent of these, Maarteen Versteeg, retired after some 20 years within the school. The current Headteacher Mr. Jim Cassidy began in August 2009 after leaving Gracemount High School.

Beeslack has a school roll of around 800-900 pupils with around 100 teachers. The 800-900 pupils are in year groups which are divided into registration classes. Currently the school registration system uses a coding system, XCY where X is the year of the group and Y is the registration class within that yeargroup e.g. 1C1 or 6C4.

The school follows the Scottish educational system with pupils starting in 1st year (S1) and progressing as far as 6th year (S6). As with the Scottish education system pupils can leave school once they reach the legal school leaving age of 16, normally at the end of S4. However, these pupils tend to go into unskilled or semi skilled work due to their lack of qualifications.

The school uniform consists of the whole school wearing black trousers or for girls skirts, shirts and a jumper along with ties. S6 pupils wear a modified uniform blazers and prefect ties.
