, New Zealand. It is also involved in transportation projects like the Manukau Harbour Crossing (to be completed 2011), and has provided detailed engineering design services to the high-tech Victorian Desalination Project in Australia.

Beca has received significant recognition for its work. In 2010 alone, it scooped eight awards from the Association of Consulting Engineers New Zealand (ACENZ), three awards at the New Zealand Engineering Excellence Awards (NZEE), and took out the Education and Healthcare category at the Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE) for NZi3, an information and communications technology (ICT) Innovation Institute based at the University of Canterbury in New Zealand.

In September 2010, Beca was rated the fourth most reputable organisation in New Zealand in a study commissioned by consultancy group Hay Group and NZ Management Magazine. The results were determined by 272 chairs, directors, CEOs and senior executives from 23 industries, who were asked to rate company reputational performance on a range of factors ranging from strong and effective leadership to community participation.

About Beca, the study stated, "Modest about its achievements, Beca is sound, reliable and trustworthy. A long-standing New Zealand company with a solid reputation for not only delivering high quality, but also well known for looking after its staff. It is an all round leader in its field both in New Zealand and internationally."

This was followed up by another major award win in December 2010, when Beca was named Company of the Year at the 2010 New Zealand Deloitte/Management Magazine Top 200 Awards.

2010 was the first time Beca had entered the prestigious awards, which are selected from NZ Management magazine's annual listing of New Zealand’s 200 largest corporations based on revenue. Judges commented that Beca stood out as a “world leader in its field…Beca’s success has been based not on what it produces, but on the exceptional services it provides to customers."
