.It is situated on the left bank of Kalyani, about 49 km north-west of Unnao and 22 km north-west of Safipur on the Unnao-Hardoi road.

History

Early in 1920's there were three main families of Bangarmau: the Chowdhury's,and the Baniya's and Dhobi's.
This is a very old city,also referred in BABAR NAMA and nearby a village NEWAL is linked to the references made by the Chinese traveler and Buddhist scholar-Hieun Tsang in early days.The city of Bangarmau is also having the great Raj Rajeshvari temple even today in good condition.
