Each of the group's members hail from different parts of California; Big Dan from Oakland, CA, Giant from Salinas, CA, Somos One from San Diego, CA and Jacinto has moved all over California throughout his entire life.
The band's three MCs, Giant, Big Dan and Somos One are all graduates of UC Berkeley.

BRWN BFLO have carved a niche for themselves in the Bay Area Music Scene via their inventive, Latin-tinged take on hip-hop through politically-charged, positive and original lyrical content and musical style.
Calling themselves "edu-tainers" and block educators, they try to stay close to their community roots and preach the gospel of violence prevention, cultural pride and La Raza resistance.

Prior to their debut album they released a mixtape titled "Batos, Baqueros & Busboys" hosted by Zumbi of Zion I.
They are affiliated with Jah Records, InGrooves and City Hall Records.
