The N20 engine is a part of EfficientDynamics and it will replace the six-cylinder N52 and N53 engines with BMW X1 xDrive28i being the first model to feature this engine . Engine is all aluminium and is lighter and more compact than a six-cylinder engine of equivalent power. On April 20, 2011 BMW announced BMW Z4 sDrive28i model which will use new N20 engine.
