Asia Spa & Wellness Festival is an annual event held in Asia for the spa and wellness industry. Known as the largest event of its kind, the Festival comprises an exhibition, an educational summit and the ASWF Gold Awards. It is organised by Asia Spa & Wellness Promotion Council, the regional coordinating body for the promotion of spa and wellness centres.

History

 in 2006. In its inaugural year, it attracted some 20,000 visitors, comprising both public and trade visitors. Supported and endorsed by Malaysia’s Ministry of Tourism and was an official event as part of the Visit Malaysia Year 2007,

Trade Exhibition

The trade exhibition comprises two key sections: 1) spa and wellness equipment, products, and services, and 2) spas, wellness centres, medical centres and hotels and resorts.

This dual exhibit grouping allow the exhibition to attract travel and tour professionals specialising in spa and wellness travel as well as spa and wellness professionals sourcing for new products and services.

Educational Summit

The educational summit is typically two-days, with between 15 to 20 speakers. The educational summit at Asia Spa & Wellness Festival attracts between 150 to 250 attendees, and focuses on business issues, trends and technology.

Networking opportunities are strategically weaved into the programme, allowing maximum interactions among speakers, delegates and exhibitors.

Gold Awards

The ASWF Gold Awards are the industry gold standard for excellence. Judged by an independent judging panel that is kept secret until the Awards Night, the Gold Awards are given only to the truly deserving spas, wellness centres and industry supporters.

Business Matching

A key component of the Festival is the business matching session, which brings exhibitors and hosted buyers together. Typically held on the first day of the Festival, the BMS allow business and contracts to be negotiated directly, before the floors are opened to other trade visitors and the general public.

2009 Event

The 2009 event was successfully concluded from 20 to 22 March 2009 at the Royal Paragon Hall, Bangkok. It attracted over 6,000 trade professionals, including 600+ foreign participants and was officiated by the Deputy Governor of Tourism Authority of Thailand who represented the Minister of Culture and Tourism.
