The school was founded in 1948. Its buildings comprise two Victorian houses and an adjoining coach house with gardens, car parks and play areas in between. A suburb of south-west Sheffield, Broomhill is one of the city's more desirable residential areas, with the advantage of being close to both the City Centre and to the Peak District National Park.
