. Even though Monkam had been capped for the U-19 national team and played in the Cameroonian Premier League for many years, he didn't fulfill the requirement of the Norwegian Football Association.

The Football Association later turned, letting Monkam transfer to Brann because the deal was closed long before the new rules were made. Therefore, Arnaud Monkam joined SK Brann, in February 2006.
