Arimalam is located at 10.257434°N 78.889371°E. It has an average elevation of 66 metres (216 feet). It is 18 kilometers away from pudukkottai and is well connected by public transport.

HISTORY

The name Arimalam was originally derived from ARUM PAZHAM. A saint was very hungry when he was walking through Arimalam forest and he found a mango fruit which was very tasty. Therefore he named it as rare (Ariya) fruit (pazham). The name eventually became Arimalam. Even though it is very small, the people are very friendly.Form Previous Century On wards Nagarathar Peoples Was Developed This Village. Among All Nagarathar Villages Only few comes under PUDUKKOTTAI District
