When Nick visited Archie in prison, he apologised for abandoning him, Archie forgave him and gave him a note to give to Seth saying he was sorry. Plane Crash and Death

In December 1993, Archie was killed in the Emmerdale plane crash. Whilst he and Nick were walking home after an argument at the Woolpack with Seth and Lynn Whiteley, they were blinded by jet fuel. Nick survived but a large fire ball landed in front of Archie and he was engulfed in flames and presumably incinerated.

Archie's body was never found, and suspicion rumours whether he died or not. Nevertheless, he was pronounced dead by the Beckindale residents.
