After retiring from international netball, Ieremia became a sports reporter for ONE News from 1997 until 1999. In 1997, Ieremia won the Qantas Media Award

Personal life

In 2002, Ieremia married Andrew Bruce, adopting her husband's surname. Their marriage was publicly rocky, and in 2006 they announced their divorce, after which April reverted to her maiden name.
