Apple Canyon Lake is not a town, but a residential/resort community in Jo Daviess County, Illinois. Homeowners pay taxes and some children attend three different school districts: Scales Mound, Warren and Stockton. Developed by Braniger Associates in the 60s, the canyon was dammed and water filled the lake over 2-3 years. The lake is one of the best kept secrets in Illinois. Bass and walleye fishing are excellent. Boating, water skiing, a hiking trail around the entire lake are just some of the amenities.
