The entire population prior to the late-20th century were farmers. Although they still form part of the local economy, tourism is the main industry. Paved roads and electricity arrived in the late 20th century. Some residents have second homes in low-lying areas where they spend the winter months.

Geography and information
Anemodouri's built-up area is shaped like a crescent as the houses are near the fields. Most of the surrounding area is forested mountains with hills to the west. Farmlands lie to the southeast and north and the Tsiberou mountain peak is also to the southeast. There is a small stream, a tributary of the Alpheus, to the south.
